Lean services integration with S/4 HANA 2020 on premise

Dear Community,

We are implementing Ariba Digital supplier network with CIG integration to SAP S/4 HANA 2020. We use lean services for service purchase orders in S/4 and send the PO to Ariba network.

Can Supplier create service entry sheet and invoice for lean service Purchase order on Ariba network with CIG integration?

Hey Karthik,

You can create Service Entry sheet and invoices for lean services and these docs can be integrated using CIG . Have you seen anything that mentions otherwise?

Keep in mind that While creating a service sheet or an invoice from a purchase order with Lean Service or Limit Service items, all the line items are flipped together. By default, all Lean Service and Limit Service line items are included in the service sheet or invoice. There is no parent-child structure for Lean Service and Limit Service items. Each line item exists independently.

We have a scenario of having both material and lean service items in single purchase order. PO should be sent to Ariba network

In this scenario, service sheet creation is applicable to lean service items only. Do we have any limitation on service sheet or an invoice creation from Ariba network?

I see below are few restrictions on lean services from Automation of Source to pay with Ariba network (42K).

SAP Ariba CIG does not support - service purchase order with material items and enhanced limits for lean services.

Ariba Network:

1. Purchase Order confirmations for lean services are not supported.

2. Supplier cannot cancel a service sheet if service sheet is approved or rejected

3. Suppliers cannot edit and make corrections to service sheets created against a service purchase order with lean service items

42K is the scope item for integration with S/4 HANA cloud . Were you asking about lean service limitations for a cloud or on premise scenario?

Dear Dencil,

We have created lean service purchase order and sent to Ariba network.

In AN, Purchase order is tagged to Item type as "Material" instead "lean". Could you please help with the changes required in Ariba CIG.

In parallel, I had raised service request and Ariba support team said that Lean services integration is only available for API based integration from S4H cloud to CIG and we currently do not support Lean Service on CIG AddOn.

Could you please check and confirm on lean service integration.

Hi Karthik,

My response was from an Ariba network perspective and the possibility of integrating that using CIG . Did not focus on the method of integration and on what is possible/not possible. I should have been more clear in my response.

If SAP support has indicated that only API based integration is available, for lean services , then that should be the case .
