Hi Experts,
I am trying to configure the SRM system and as per the Configuration Guides I see that the PI is Mandatory.
However, we would want to configure the System without the PI.
Is this possible? If yes, Could you suggest on the settings that needs to be done?

HI Ritesh,
I did go through the Configuration guides , however I see that there is PI involved in the configurations. So, I was fully stuck after going through the Configuration Guide.

Hello Pratap,
Which configuration guide did you go through ? Self- Service procurement one? There is Configuration guide call Basic Settings for SAP Enhancement Package 1 for SAP SRM 7.0 which shows all the steps require such as setting up backend system, setting up srm system, setting up number ranges, attachments configuration, workflow configuration etc.
Once you are done with this configuration in Classic Scenario you should able to create SC, have workflow configured based on your business requirement and then move that SC to ECC as PR or PO via job set up CLEAN_REQREQ_UP and BBP_GET_STATUS2.
For Goods Receipt if you perform in SRM then you have to set up partner profile in SRM and ECC system for MBGMCR message type as Outbound in SRM and Inbound in ECC.
Hope this helps.
Thank you
Ritesh
Hi Pratap,
Yeah you can not take PI setting into consideration. For extended classic scenario i assume you will be activating Sourcing cokpit where Purchasing team gets the SC and then they will take necessary action to source it either going to Bidding or Auction then converting into PO or Contract based on business required.
In your case you have to set up Sourcing requirement for Product category and also activate Extended classic scenario.
Hope this help.
Thank you
Ritesh

Hi Ritesh and Ricardo ,
Thank you very much for your valuable inputs!
However, please let me know if there is some reference document that I can follow when doing the configuration.
We are not going for the implementation of MDM or SRM-SUS. Atleast the client doesn't have a requirement. So, we would be going with the Self- Service procurement and Service Procurement with the ECS.
Please help me find some documents that I can refer through when doing the Configuration.

Hi Pratap,
You can find configuration guide for Self Service procurement on SAP portal. service.sap.com/support. In there you can go into Release & Upgrade Information --> Installation and Upgrade Guide --> SAP Business Suite Application --> SAP SRM --> Pick your service 7.01 or 7.02 and you can see Configuration guide for each component in there.
Hope this helps.
Thank you
Ritesh
Hello,
If you would like to keep using RFC when creating follow on documents in ECC, you have to set ERP_3.0 as the ECC version in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST.
If you set ERP_4.0 or higher, system will assume that you are using XML to transfer POs or contracts.

Ricardo

Hi Pratap,
PI is not mandatory for SRM - MM integration. If you are using MDM in SRM then you do require PI to call the catalog data. How ever for other SRM functionality self service procurement with vendor punch-out catalog, free form text, Sourcing etc you do not need PI. there are standard RFC feature available which can transfer your document from SRM to ECC system as PR or PO. GR is also transfer to ALE/IDOC method if created in SRM.
hope this helps.
Thank you
Ritesh
