Is mandatory to use PI to integration data between SRM and SUS?

Hi Gurus:

We are implementing SRM-SUS in separated servers.

Is mandatory to use PI to integration data between SRM and SUS?

Exists any other option different to PI? For example: RFC's.

Both installations are SRM 7.02 (Enhancement Package 2)

Thanks in advance and best regards,

Alonso Valenzuela

Hi Alonso,

PI is mandatory no matter the scenario is SRM-SUS or MM-SUS.

Hi Alonso ,

PI is not mandatory for SRM - MM integration. If you are using MDM in SRM then you do require PI to call the catalog data. How ever for other SRM functionality self service procurement with vendor punch-out catalog, free form text, Sourcing etc you do not need PI. there are standard RFC feature available which can transfer your document from SRM to ECC system as PR or PO. GR is also transfer to ALE/IDOC method if created in SRM.

If you would like to keep using RFC when creating follow on documents in ECC, you have to set ERP_3.0 as the ECC version in table BBP_BACKEND_DEST.

If you set ERP_4.0 or higher, system will assume that you are using XML to transfer POs or contracts

and thus you might need SUS in that case .
