is it possible to use MDM Catalogue without portal and with NWBC ?

Hi All,

As per information available in www.service.sap.com, SRM 7.0 with EHP1(enhance package 1) can be implemented without Enterprise Portal. Portal-Independent navigation frame(NWBC) can be used in place of EP. I have following doubt regarding SRM MDM catalogue without portal :

1. Can we use SRM MDM catalogue without Portal and with Portal-independent navigation frame (NWBC) ?

2. If yes, where the MDM catalogue UI will be placed ?

3. Is it possible to call MDM UI in Portal-Independent navigation frame(NWBC) ?

Hi,

Yes it is absolutely possible to use MDM catalog with NWBC. In fact you dont need EHP1 but is available from SRM 7.0 SP05. All catalog scenarios work with NWBC similar like that with portal.

Generally, MDM Catalogue UI lunched in Portal. Can you please guide me where and how should I lunch the MDM UI without using Portal.

Hi,

If you have completed the catalog webservice configuration in SPRO and assign this catalog name to user attributes in PPOMA_BBP then the catalog will appear in the shopping cart creation screen.

Clicking on the catalog link will take you to catalog.

Hi Jennifer,

We face the same scenario as yours, srm 7.01 + SRM MDM 7.1 + PI 7.1 without EP using nwbc.

Would you please show us where the java api and srm_mdm_cat package you imported?

Do you install netweaver as java server individually and import the API?

Dear Gurus, the second answer for NWbC is: How do you customize the serching and the results screens without the Portal? I used to go to the WebUI page on Portal to do this customization. Can you help me?

Hi:

This is my theory:

MDM Catalog can be available in ECC while adding components in the Work Order and in ME51N and ME21N. All based on SAP GUI, so it should work the same way.

That is my 2 cents thoughts on that.
