How to send custom attribute from IBP to Ariba.

we are sending custom attribute(MOTID = Means of Transport ID) from IBP to Ariba which is a root attribute.

Did following steps:

1) Created Plan attribute for MOTID "HDR_MOTID"

2) In data sharing plan under mapping source category as "data sharing plan" source field as "HDR_MOTID" Target category as "attribute" and target field "Characteristic 01 Domain"

3) In another mapping Source category "attribute"; source field "MOTID"

Target category "attribute" and target field "Characteristic 01 Value"

4) on Ariba network created attribute under attribute library attribute name given as "HDR_MOTID" and expression "HDR_MOTID", root attribute as yes

After setting all this setup selecting data sharing in excel add on getting error "Maintain a value for the Characteristic domain".

Can you help me is there any missing link or anything needs to be setup.

Your "Characteristic 01 Domain" should match the expression, we use this to link when we receive.

The "Characteristic 01 Value" should be the source from your "HDR_MOTID" plan.

check the example below on how the cXML should be.

Thanks for your response. This has helped in correcting mapping, error has been removed. But when we are checking cXML message MOTID attribute is not getting picked up, rest all data is flowing correctly including plan attribute which are freetxt.

do you mean the data of MOTID is not on the cXML?

if yes, check your data sharing plan mapping, the source data might have something wrong.
