How can I implement greater controls in my SAP Ariba contract and how it integrates with SAP ERP?

For example, we currently see that the approved contract (header) value in Ariba does not prevent overspend on the Outline Agreement in SAP ERP. We are advised that we can only set up an Ariba contract for Term or for Value, but not both. However, to correctly manage the contract and its compliance, it should be able to manage both i.e. the contract term and its validity date PLUS not being able to spend beyond the approved contract value.

This is Chiko. Were you able to set validity date for each contract line item?I'm currently looking for a way to split validilty periods for the price of each line item.(E.x $100 until the end of October and $110 from 01Nov-31Dec)Thanks.
