Is there any document/blog on how to create extensions?

The user documentation should be sufficient to get you started. However, I would suggest testing several extension datatypes and positioning them with page customizations in your staging / sandbox system. Going forward I would learn how to create extensions and page customizations using import workbooks. This is valuable as it is the most efficient means to migrate extensions between Staging / Production environments.  Once you have mastered that you then need to consider what effect these custom fields will have on your queries/reports.
