ECC upgrade - effect on SRM integration

Hi all,

SRM 5.0 ECS SP13.

We will be upgrading our SRM system to 7.0 in few months.But before that we are upgrading our R/3 4.7 system to ECC 6.0

During the upgrade of our R/3 system,what steps /testing /config changes need to be carried in our SRM system to ensure that the integration between both the systems is not affected?Can someone please mention the kep config areas that need to be looked upon during the R/3 system upgrade?

Also any changes need to be done regarding the custom developments/workflows??Any known issues anybidy has faced earlier??Please provide your inputs as that would help us .

yes . you have to select the correct the system type in the Define backend system testing

Is this the only customizing setting to be changed??

Also does the complete end to end process needs to be tested as well in all the enviornments?

What about custom developments involving usage of obselete BAPI's,RFC's ???

Hi,

You are not going to upgrade the production system directly.

You have to upgrade DEV first and then QA system. You will find minor issues in those phase.

Yes. it works with only that little change. everything goes fine. As masa said you can perform quick testing from request to good receipt in SRM.

You have to adjust "Define System Landscape" customizing.
