Disable specific Punch out Catalogs

Guys

We have a requirement to 'disable' specific Punch-out Catalogs. (Please note it is NOT deactivating in the Org Structure). Essentially the users want all catalogs displayed in the Shop screen but only some of them should be 'enabled'.

Is it possible to setup the above requirement. Can someone please share your thoughts

Hi Srinivasa,

I am also curious as to why the user would need to see the catalogs but not be able to access them.

You could create a set of dummy catalogs with the same names as the real ones. You'd have to give them invalid call structures, and the user would get an error if they clicked on the link, but at least they'd see something. Then just assign the dummy catalogs in the org structure for those particular users.

Could you please clarify your business need behind showing all the catalogs even though some of these need to be disabled.

As already mentioned by Ivy, this can be achieved by removing the catalog IDs (which are no longer required) in PPOMA_BBP for the required users.

Hi Guys

We all know that, deactivating catalog ids using CAT attributes from ppoma_bbp is the most common task and (we already have this process in place). 

However, our requirement is that, the business community wants to 'access' specific catalogs only. At the same time, they also want to see other catalogs (read only link), used by few other business units so that, they may decide in the due course whether or not they can use those other catalogs as well.

In that case, it's easy. You need to get your vendors to create read-only accounts as well as the normal ones. Then create the second set of call structures to assign to those users. (well, it's easy for YOU - you just call the vendor)

Alternatively (and it's been a while for me, so I'm rusty) you could create call structures that don't have the return address in them, so that if the users select items from the punch-out, they won't come back to the SRM shopping cart.

Hi,

You may consider removing unwanted catalog from CAT attribute (catalog id) for specific user via ppoma_bbp. Then this catalog won't be displayed while creating SC.
