Demo environment: Link ECC back-end with SAP SRM add-on with SAP SRM

Hi,

We're trying to set-up and link an ECC EHP5 back-end system (the only one we currently have in our demo environment landscape) with our seperate SAP SRM system/server (extended classic scenario).

The ECC EHP5 back-end has SRM add-on installation enabled. Do you think this will cause any constraints for us to use this ECC system as our back-end SRM 7.0 extended classic scenario system as well?

Has anybody ever done this? do you think this should be possible, why?

We haven't run in to issues until we ran the Bdoc replication customizingmessages via txn R3AS. The replication process doesn't start and keeps saying 'in process', blocks are 0 and no queues exist. We therefore can't get our heads around the issue here and thought it might be caused by the back-end system having an SRM add-on installation?

Your inputs are very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

Tim

Hi,

The addon SRM shouldnt affect your standalone SRM system if you have done all the relevant setting for your Standalone SRM logical system. Example definition of LOGICAL system name for standalone SRM in your ERP system, RFC connections

Please follow the steps in your Standalone SRM logical system as per note : 720819

In your srm system create site connecting to your ERP system , set filter if required and start the intial download.

Hi Sam,

Thank you for the information. I wasn't quite sure as we have never integrated an ECC back-end which has SRM add-on installed.

We've set-up and checked everything in regards to MW configuration and I believe everything is set-up as it should. However:

We keep getting the same result when trying to replicate data via R3AS, the object stays in status 'in progres'' but doesn't do anything. No queues exist either. Middleware works correctly when we f.e. replicated currencies via BBP_GET_CURRENCY.

- We've a multi ECC back-end set-up for the SRM 7.0 system. We can select which back-end we want to download the data from via R3AS as we ran BBP_*MW program which marked the SRM system as a multi-backend system.

- In the ECC EHP5 system we get an information message 'I::000' (message number 000) when we open table CRMRFCPAR we've maintained the appropriate entries for consumer 'SRM' but apart from these 4 entries the table is empty. I've looked for a note but it doesn't seem to exist. I believe this might also cause the issues we're having?

Do you or any one else maybe have any idea how we can approach this? How would you try to resolve this? As there is nothing in queue or in monitoring we do not have any lead from where we can start resolving our issue :-(.

Kind regards,

Tim

HI,

So i understand that you have maintained all the entries mentioned in the note : 720819

Because i have faced similar issue and issue was wrong configrations in the tables mentioned in the above note.

You dont have any entires in the outbound queue of ERP also?

Also please try setting filters for MATERIAL OBJECT and then initiate the download again.

Yes MW table entries are maintained as described in note 720819. We didn't have to maintain the SRM consumer entry in SMOFPARSFA in the SRM system as it was already maintained when setting-up our connection with an ECC EHP4 back-end (which does work as expected).

You dont have any entires in the outbound queue of ERP also?

Nope, no entries in the SRM queue (neither in inbound nor in outbound) or in ERP queue (neither inbound nor outbound). This is what I find particularly strange.

Also please try setting filters for MATERIAL OBJECT and then initiate the download again.

I'm not replicating the MATERIAL object, i'm replicating customizing objects via an initial load. F.e. BBP_CUST_BASIS3 or BBP_CUST_PROD0 or BBP_CUST_PROD1

Hoping you can help me with this. Are you on, or do you have acces to an ECC EHP5 system?

Kind regards,

Tim

Hi,

In your site you would have maintained RFC connection in site attributes,, what is the RFC user type (dialog, service) maintined in this RFC. Also give SAP_ALL and SAP_NEW as profiles to this RFC user.

In site -> site attriubutes do you see the right LOgical system of ERP?

Hi,

User type of RFC users is 'system', RFC connections seem to be ok. Also take in to account that reports like BBP_GET_CURRENCY do work.

Site attributes hold the correct RFC connection indeed and the logical system and system version was automatically correctly determined on SAP SRM side.

Do you have any other thoughts? ;-).

Kind regards,

Tim
