Hi all,
We are on SRM 5.0 ECS.
I have a question regarding deletion of unused old material #'s in SRM and MM.
1. Can old MM #u2019s be deleted from the system?
2. If a MM # is deleted how will it affect the PO?
Please sdvise.
Thanks.

Hi
I hope you are going to use standard archiving process to delete.
The archiving process does basic checks on open documents etc and after closure of POs only will it allow deletion of materials..
Meanwhile, to stop few processes, you can use MM/PP status in material master (e.g. you can stop planning for material).
Best regards,
Ramki

Thanks Ramki and Muthu.
Any links for the std process for deleting materials from source system.

- How is the ARCHIVING PROCESS done???How does it automatically check for open documents in SRM???
Also will the changes(after deletion in MM) be automatically replicated to SRM or I need to run the initial load in R3AS?
Pls advise.
You can delete the material in the source system . later this deleted materials sets LOCK flag in COMMPR01 and later you can not order them via shopping cart
