Hello,
How can we achieve to delete or deactivate a supplier list. No standard action buttons for this are available, deleting or deactiving all items in a supplier list results in an error/not being able to save the document. How can one delete/deactivate a supplier list or is it there for eternity?
Kind regards,
Tim
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Tim,
We do have options to INACTIVATE supplier list in SRM 550.

Hi
Can you explore more on RELEASE event ?
i saw there is a option active or INACTIVATE option in the web portal.
Under Business Partner, follow the path Create Documents Approved Supplier List .
Enter the suppliers that you want to include in the supplier list.
You can use the search help. You can also search for suppliers in external lists and add these to your system. If necessary, enter existing contracts, items, and back-end systems. If you set a supplier to Inactive, it is not displayed when you use the supplier list.
Hold the supplier list or release it.
You can only release it if at least one active item exists.
i keep posting you
Muthu
Hi Muthu,
There are indeed three POWL lists:
1] All
2] Released
3] Not released
However no action button for unrealeasing/deactivating/removing a supplier list is available. It isn't available on the webdynpro configuration nor on the metadata for business object 2206 either. Definetly wondering how this looks in somebody elses SRM 7 system.
Kind regards,
Tim
I don't see "delete" action button for supplier list (either in POWL or in the document display) after the list is saved. However, you could choose to uncheck the "Supplier is active" box or delete them for items in SOS tab. So I guess at least the "shell" for the supplier list is there for eternity. As I am not familiar enough with this functionality, I can't begin to guess the reason behind it.
Hi Jay,
Thank you for your response. Could you give de-activating or deleting all suppliers in the list a try? It will return with an error telling you there is a requirement of atleast 1 supplier in the list.
Since Muthu is telling us SRM 550 has the ability to set a supplier list to inactive i find it strange we do not have this option in SRM 7. I also would like to know the options of configuration via the GUI because i think that for VL we can configure a couple of things via the GUI asswell (maybe we can inactivate the VL via the back-door?).
Kind regards,
Tim
Jay,
I agree that releasing it requires one active supplier minimum is correct. However i'm looking for a solution where we de-activate a previously released supplier list. This option should be available but from what i can see and as you replied it seems to not be available in any srm 7 system?
I was looking for additional input and verification before i would start an OSS msg procedure.
Kind regards,
Tim
SRM-EBP-VL-ASL create an OSS message under this component .
but before that double confirm SL list got approved.
SRM-EBP-VL-ASL - component says approved vendor list
SRM-EBP-VL - old component.
WHAT IS THE STATUS OF YOUR SUPPLIER LIST. i believe you may get that option once you release /approve the supplier list.
muthu
Hi Muthu,
I don't think in SRM7 the old component SRM-EBP-VL is available. It's SRM-EBP-VL-ASL all the way. The status of our supplier list obviously is 'Released'.
Once the status is 'Released' we can not 'de-release' the vendorlist, there is no option/button to do this (it seems to not even be available in the SRM core either).
Thank muthu and jay for your inputs. I'll post another OSS msg...
Kind regards,
Tim
Muhtu, Jay,
SAP replied with the following:
For SRM 7.0 if you want to deactivate a complete vendor list.
- Search the vendor list
- Display vendor list
- Press edit button
- Press save/hold button
Vendor list will then be saved in status u201CNot Releasedu201D and will not be found as source of supply anymore.
You can visit SRM SDN forum : https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/forums
- SRM - General
- SRM u2013 Shopping Cart&Catalog
- SRM- Workflow & User/vendor/org. Management.
Kind regards,
Tim
Thank you for the update. I apprecaite it. However, I would make a small revision to SAP's proposed solution. You could test it out and see if it's a valid point.
For SRM 7.0 if you want to deactivate a complete vendor list.
- Search the vendor list
- Display vendor list
- Press edit button
- Make a dummy change <<< addition
- Press save/hold button
