Definition of Vendor

Does anyone know the definition of Vendor? And what's the difference between vendor and supplier?

For the first question - you can use transaction SAPTERM or the online version to find the definition.

For the second question (this is valid for the non-SAP world) - type in Google difference between vendor and supplier and you will find many posts that explain it (there are even some comparisons in table form).
