i posted below question regarding Embedded Search and SAP HANA:

I have the answer in below KBA: you can use Embdedded Search for Cross-Catalog Search in SRM UI Add-On with SAP HANA.

2384246 - My Shopping Cart: No Items are available; perform a search to add an item

In the "Resolution" paragraph, it is written "TREX is mandatory if you are using cross catalog search in the UI or Fiori My Shopping Cart App.You can also use HANA instead of TREX".
