Creating portal users from SU01 users

Hi,

We are on SRM 7.0 and have a requirement that whenever an SU01 user is created, a portal user should also be created immediately corresponding to this SU01 user.

Since we are also using SUS, whenever an admin supplier creates a contact person for his company, an SU01 user is created at the backend. We want this contact person to be created automatically in the portal. Currently its an offline activity where the admin supplier calls up the helpdesk to enable his contact person in the portal.

Pl shed some light on this.

Hi,

Which applications are connected from Portal?

If it is only ERP and SRM, you can set ABAP data storage for User Management in Portal.

Thanks for the update. I am working with Nikhil to resolve this issue. Our Portal is pointing to a ABAP Datasource. We have users created in SUS, SRM and ECC. We need to automate the Portal users for all these components as users would use the portal to for accessing all these 3 applications.But how to automate the user creation in SRM, SUS or ECC to the Portal.

If i create a contact person in SRM, then this should create a Portal User with the roles.

If i create a contact person in SUS, then this should create a Portal User with the roles.

Hi,

There are several options.

1. Select LDAP as Portal DataSource

2. Select ABAP data source in ERP. All internal users are created in ERP and Central User Administration replicate users to SRM. SUS can be accessed without Portal.

3. Use Portal local UME. All user has to be created in Portal.

We don't have an LDAP and hence option 1 is ruled out for us.

If i have the Portal UME as a data source, then how to replicate the users that are created in SRM?. The Users are created an SRM for EBP-access as end users, approvers, purchasers, bidders etc... and how to replicate these users to the Portal?. The SUS users are accessing both SUS functionality and bidder functions and hence they need to be in Portal Or they have to go to 2 different links with different password and hence we need to replicate the SUS users to the Portal too.

We are not considering CUA as of now and hence as of now this is ruled out too.

Any pointers/suggestions are highly appreciated.

Hi,

I think this is a good change to have LDAP.

Other option is UME SPML connector.

SRM -> SRM Server -> Master Data -> Create Users

Thanks for the Update.

We have tried the SPML in SUS and this failed to create portal user and SAP has replied to us " this feature is not supported in SUS ". We will try the config in SRM and will update this posting asap.

I have a similar problem, a Portal that is conected to AD and SSO with SAP SRM, but for SUS I need to create contact person of vendors in Portal and I was considering to use SPML, could you please explaim me why this is not supported?

Dear Velayutham ,

We are into SRM 7.0 , we are using UME as a data source for portal users .Replicating the vendor from ECC to SRM and we are creating the user in portal .

We have a requirement that as vendor created in SRM , portal user id also can be created simultaneously  in portal .

1.Is there any process how the manual creation of user in portal can be automated i.e when we replicate the user from ECC to SRM , portal ID also created for that user .

2. How to cross check in SRM , for particular user  EP id is created or not ?

Please advice  .
