Dear all,

Here I have two questions regarding CLM:

1. Is CLM a add-on of ERP? Or it needs to be installed separately?

2. Can CLM be installed with Hana DB?

Thanks a lot!

Vincent

Hi Vincent,

   1. CLM/Sourcing is a separate application that needs to be installed on netweaver. It has capability to integrate with ERP and SRM systems to enable the continuation of the processes on these backends.

2. CLM on Hana DB will be made available at a future release. Currently it is installed on Netweaver and would require a separate DB.

Hope this answers

Hi Prasad/Vincent,

To clarify #2, at least in our current situation, Sourcing/CLM uses a separate Oracle DB and the java application is installed on top of Netweaver which itself uses a SQL Server DB.

We checked on Hana compatiblity recently and found that there plans for Netweaver to convert it's DB to Hana (maybe currently available, idk), but there wasn't any definite time line yet to convert the Sourcing/CLM DB over to Hana.

Hoping this helps.

Hi Vincent

1. CLM is an add on which you install seperately to integrate with SRM or ECC or both via PI

With its integration with ECC it offers greater flexibilty to Manage contracts and with SRM application, SAP Sourcing offers a complete sourcing-to-contract management process and a seamless migration path to transform purchasing function.

2. I checked the SAP Sourcing 10 release page as below and it does not talk about HANA as database it only still has Oracle and IBM Db2 . SO the answer would be 'No' based on the data in the below link

I hope that helps
