Change / replace Approver?

Hi

I am wanting shopping carts to be approved by the creators manager, which is O.K. However, I also want the creator of the shopping cart to be able to select an alternative approver if required. At the moment with what I have configured, I can add an approver, but I cannot delete the original resolver from the list of approvers. When I go to add an approver, the dropdowns under 'More Search Helps' contain - 'Check if change/replace of Approver is allowed'. Please could someone tell me if this is how you achieve being able to select an alternative approver and remove the original, and how you set this up. If this is not how you do it does anyone have any suggestions ?

Just saw this thread and as per my requirement, we need to change the default approver identified by the system but replace button is greyed out (not able to select).

Can you please tell me how you achieved this in Process Controlled Workflow?

We are into SRM 7.0

Hi,

This option is no long available in SRM 7.0.. you can only achieve this to modify the webdynpro as Masa said, But keep in mind you have to do lot of work to acheive this functionality.

Hi,

If you use Application-Controlled Workflow in SRM 7.0 or older SRM version like SRM 5.0 , BBP_CHNG_AGNT_ALLOW BADI is available. What is your SRM version?

Hi Masa

We are moving from SRM 3.0, but are doing a completely new implementation rather than a double upgrade.

We are implementing SRM version 7.0, and intend to use process controlled workflow rather than application controlled.

Is there nothing available within process controlled workflow which would allow the change/replace of the default approver?

Just wondering if you have any thoughts on another of my questions -

Hi,

I think that is a concept in Process-Controlled Workflow to follow company's compliance.

- Requestor can add additional approver

- Requester can add additional reviewer

- Approver can specify substitute

What is business background / Business case when requestor replace approver?

Hi Masa

There could be any number of reasons why the requestor might want to replace the approver which has been selected as default i.e. the manager. The business want this functionality always available without having to specify a large number of different reasons and processes.

Hi,

I have not tested it but you can try activating the "Replace approver" button. I think WedDynpro or some ABAP code disables the button. I would change the code and test.

Hi,

There are two ways to do this.

1) Replace the approver what system has derived by pressing the buttons.

2) In my project I have custom table where the users and corresponding approvers are maintained. If the userid is not available I have written code to populate system error messages so the user selects the approver.
