Can SRM-ROS-SUS be on same client

Hello Gurus,

We are into implementation of Extended Classical Scenario for SRM 7.0 EHP2 and regarding this I have few questions in my mind

1. Can we implement SRM-ROS-SUS on same client i.e 120 what I am having here.

2. What will be the drawbacks of implementing such a scenario.

3. Without XI/PI is this possible to process.

4. Moreover we have completed with ROS ( not going with standard registration , developed custom registration)

5. What makes a difference if we are using HTTP server for development but now when I am checking for SRM SUS its giving BSP exception error: Access to page  default.htm requires HTTPS, HTTPS has not been configured for this server. Before using this we were not facing any error .

It would be a great help if someone could explain me with this.

Thanks

Gaurav Gautam

Hello Pradeep ,

Thanks a lot for your clarification. And thank you all for your replies and support. This common question was there on many minds but couldn't get more clarification. Every time it was told ,that , it is not recommended, but no one said that its not possible and also for  WHY never got an answer. Atleast with this diagram I got few understanding .I hope most of us has got an idea.Still I believe nothing is impossible in SAP. Removing the issue once I would definitely try to install ROS-SUS-SRM on same client with/without PI.If I would get the success well n good.

Thanks

Hello Pradeep Kumar Dondeti,

I would like to ask the same thing which I asked to Mr Ramesh. If I try to implement on same client same server , just will provide separate portal to vendor and buyer. Will that be helpful.

Thanks

Hi Gaurav,

I think you can do it ! Same server Same Client ! & try it once & let me know the result of process cycle.

The Reason SAP recommend on diff Clients are below.

1 - Generally we don't want Suppliers should access our SRM system, they should be restricted till RoS & SuS.

2 - RoS & SuS are kept outside firewall, we can do it by maintaining a diff client.

3 -  & it does not required Host entry if we keep it outside fire wall else every one needs to do it like we do to access SRM system.

4 - PI is not required for SRM & RoS ,, it works with OPI.

5 - PI is required if you have lower then  ECC Ehp 5 & SRM generates XML & ECC communicate through IDOC.

6 - EHP5 onward SAP has given an option of ESoa service which integrates without PI.

Hi,

SAP recommend to use different server for production. I think this has something to do with security. As ROS-SUS will be mainly accessed by your vendor, and you dont want them to have access to the server where you have your SRM installed.

Hi Yosea Sibero,

As you mentioned , will it be possible for every organization to manager two servers. And regarding access by vendor and buyer I think separate portal access would work for this issue.Regarding space from basis I had a word with my basis guy regarding space he told that it could be managed by providing equal amount of space.

Thanks

SRM / SUS / ROS to be configured in different clients in same system

Though it is standard SAP solution to implement SUS ROS and SRM in one client, it is not recomended. We tried to do it once but faced lot of issues. It is always helpful to implement it in different clients.

It is not possible to implement without XI/PI. Please refer to the config document

SAP Service Marketplace-> Support Portal-> Release & Upgrade Info-> Installation & Upgrade Guides-> SAP Business Suite Applications-> SAP SRM-> SAP SRM Server 7.0/1/2-> Configuration Guides for SAP SRM 7.0/1/2-> SAP SRM 7.0/1/2: Plan-Driven Procurement.

Hi good diagrams.

However, are you able to say WHY it is better to have different servers?  Are there PI issues?  Security issues? Other?  Also can it be on same server but different client?

What is the most effective way to implement and why if you can help much appreciated!

It depends foy your client and our infraestructure...In my opinion it´s better two clients on the same server....I think it´s difficult to have two servers....
