Can someone please share guide on how to config CPI and CIG, if we are using CPI as middleware along with CIG to connect Ariba and S4. In guide there is very limited information.

Do we need to do the application specific settings same for CIG like we used for direct connectivity? Or there is anything that needs to be change.

What are different settings that needs to be done for mediated connectivity(CPI)?

Hi Anil, SAP recommendation is to have CIG connected to ERP directly, if customer requires Integration Suite (CPI) as an additional middleware it is possible, but you need to evaluate the architecture (data center locations, additional milliseconds, additional service dependency, etc...)

For CPI there is already a package ("SAP ERP and SAP S/4HANA Integration with SAP Ariba") you can enable to do the "pass-through" between CIG and ERP (ECC and S4HANA On-premise) so the architecture will be ERP <-> Integration Suite <-> CIG <-> ARIBA

https://api.sap.com/package/IntegrationfromSAPAribaAribaNetworkAribaSourcingandAribaProcurementtoSAP...

These are configuration-only iflows so you need to be aware that endpoints in ERP will point to Integration Suite deployed iflows, then Integration Suite iFlows will point to ERP and CIG and CIG will only point to Integration Suite (same as systems flows above).

The iflows are Solution based (AN, Buying, Sourcing), you only need to configure connectivity values (users, systemid, endpoints)

Hope it helps

Hi Gabriel,

Will it possible to do the following integration ...

Ariba > CIG > CC ( Cloud Connector )> SAP PI > ECC

Thanks

Rajesh

Hi Anil, CC is a tool to connect to your OnPremise systems, if you have PI you don't need this, you can have this architecture if you require SAP PI in the landscape:

  • Ariba > CIG > SAP PI > SAP ECC

For SAP PI you will need to install the XI Content https://help.sap.com/docs/sisgw/sap-ariba-cloud-integration-gateway-installation-guide-for-erp-integ...

I have gone through this link, but it mostly specifies direct connectivity with CIG, What are the changes when we use CPI and CIG?

What all spro configs will change, will application specific settings change in spro?
