Business Partner Hierarchy in S/4HANA Cloud to support ERP Vendor Integration with SAP Ariba

When a Customer has S/4HANA Cloud and an integrated SAP Ariba Suite, how should they setup the Business Partner hierarchy in S/4HANA Cloud to support scenarios where a Supplier has subsidiaries that use the same Tax ID so that the SAP Ariba Supplier Management integrates the supplier profile with S/4HANA and receives an ERP Vendor ID for the parent and each child?

For example, a Supplier might be a large corporation or university, with many subsidiaries, which all share the same TAX ID as the Parent company. So, a Parent-Child Relationship might exist and each subsidiary might want to conduct its own business through purchase orders, invoices, etc., especially over the SAP Ariba Network, all while maintaining the same Tax ID as the Parent, and in some cases, potentially the same bank information as the parent.

Since the TAX ID can be used as an indicator of duplicate suppliers, how should the Business Partner hierarchy be setup to support the parent-child relationship and provide integration with SAP Ariba to support sourcing and procurement?

I am looking for a reference document, or training, or a video that might discuss the proper setup.

Thank you!

Hi Mark,

Whilst my own experience in this area is somewhat limited. Perhaps the following documentation could be a start point for you;
- Manage Customer Hierarchies
- S4HC: Multiple Assignments of Customers/Suppliers to Business Partners
- Multiple Assignments of Customers/Suppliers to Business Partners in SAP S/4HANA 1809

If you have tried replicating the data already and have indeed encountered a duplicate error message on the inbound service to S/4HANA Cloud, could you provide me with the error message?
Thanks a lot,

Brad
