Hello
We are upgrading our SRM system from 4 to 7, but have an old EP6 NW 6.40 Portal . Because of the dependencies of ESS and MSS for the ECC system
Can I just upgrade the Business package in the portal from BP_SRM40 to BP_SRM7.02 in an EP6 system.

Hi Duncan,
No. You just can't upgrade keeping EP 6.
As for SRM 7.1; minimum requirnment is:
SAP NetWeaver Portal 7.02 with the most recent patch level available installed (at least Usage Type: EPC)

You have to upgrade your SAP Netweaver also to the latest version.check in service.sap in the upgrade area. Please raise an OSS message and clarify
