Benefits of SRM

Hi,

what are the benefits if we go for SRM in my company? we have already ECC 6.0 in our company.

Can Somebody throw some light on this subject please?

Hi, just my 2c. Normally business intend to use SRM to handle self-service and indirect procurement and leave ERP handling direct procurement. ERP really doesn't provide much help/delivered solutions for employee self-service e.g. engineer wants to buy a small tool, hence quite a few SAP ERP clients are using SRM or Ariba or other e-soourcing solutuions to fulfill these kind of business requirements coz they offer a web/portal based process and user friendly (for non-sourcing profressionals).

And with SRM it offers many more like online-auction, catalog management etc. One simple example is RFQ/Quotation in ECC it is merely a price compare tool that many buys dun want to use but SRM offers RFx will capabilities interact with vendors and then convert the result into contratcs, POs etc that buys just need to set-up and monitor rather than doing all data entry by her/himself.
