Barcode in SAP CLM Contract Document

SAP CLM allows generation of barcodes in contract documents for specific master agreement meta-data fields.

Has anyone used this functionality? Any business usecase for the same?

Currently our client has a requirement to bar code the Page Nos(in footer) while generating a contract document.Can the above functionality be used to meet this requirement?

• When you create a contract variable (or token) to represent a field in the agreement, select checkbox ‘Replace with barcode value”
• Include this variable in the clause document for e.g. Header clause which will used as a header text of the contract document
• At the time contract document generation, if above clause is used then you would see the barcode.  CLM supports Code 39 barcode fonts.

Thanks for the reply.

I am aware how to get bar codes generated.The issue is as described below

As per our current process, once the contract is ready and need to be send to the supplier for signature (physical) we manually stamp, sign and add a page number for each of the pages. Is it possible to use the barcode functionality to achieve the same? This will ensure that the contract was not tampered once we receive it from our suppliers

Is this possible or was barcodes introduced for a different use case?
