Hi Experts,
I am aware that a PO can automatically be created from a PR when appropriate configurations are made in SAP. However i wanted to understand if it is possible to automatically create a PO from a PR only after the PO is approved using the Release Strategy.
Current Scenario:
PR's are approved in the system post which system automatically creates a PO in SAP. (No Additional Approvals for PO Required)
Recommended Scenario:
PR's are approved in the system, post which the system sends the PO for approval using the release strategy and only after all approvals are obtained the system automatically creates the PO.
Let me know if this scenario is possible in SAP.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi sapuser_1993
Release strategy of purchase requisitions and purchase orders are two separate configuration objects, i.e. you can setup them independently. Thus have the system to trigger a release strategy during purchase requisition creation and then another one during purchase requisition conversion to purchase order.
To my knowledge purchase order release strategy works the same irrespective if you create a purchase order without a reference or if you convert PReq to PO manually or if the conversion is done automatically with ME59N transaction.
Therefore your scenario is totally within SAP standard functionality.
Kind regards
