Hi Experts,
I am trying to understand Ariba SLP to SAP ERP/MDG Integration, below are the cases where I am having queries -
1. Ariba SLP --> CIG --> SAP MDG (separate system) --> CIG --> (1) Ariba SLP
--> (2) SAP S4Hana
- How SAP MDG sends data back to SLP as well as S4H at a same time?
- What configurations required for the same?
- Are both transactions flowing via CIG?
2. Ariba SLP --> CIG --> SAP S4Hana with MDG functionality (not separate box) --> Ariba SLP
- How to send data from SAP S4Hana to Ariba SLP?
TIA!

When Master Data Governance (MDG) becomes part of the architecture, it will be the source of truth for all (in this case) vendor master data. Usually MDG is included in the landscape to support multiple ERP backends at once. SAP Ariba SLP would send updates to MDG and then MDG would connect to the backend S/4 system. Updates in S/4 would flow to the master record in MDG and be sent to any consuming system, including SLP where relevant. Updates in SLP would flow to MDG and MDG would send to any consuming system, including the S/4 ERP.
Most customers with MDG and SLP move any data maintenance activities to MDG (and not S/4) and use SLP to communicate the registration through the SAP Business Network to suppliers and receive a response. Then qualification/disqualification, modular questionnaires, and preferred status management occurs in SLP.
- Are both transactions flowing via CIG? SLP to MDG flows via CIG. SAP MDG to S/4 HANA do not flow via CIG but uses standard replication mechanisms – webservice, etc.
