Ariba Network Purchase Orders Supplier API: How to update order status?

We are using the Ariba Network Purchase Orders Supplier API to retrieve orders and order line items from SAP Ariba. Working fine. We would now like to change the order status and mark the processed orders as acknowledged. How can we do this using the Ariba Network Purchase Orders Supplier API? Or is there another API for this use case?
