Ariba Network integration with Non-Unicode SAP ECC system

Is it possible to integrate a non-unicode SAP ECC system with the Ariba Network - using either of the Business Add-in, PI with CI9 or CIG approaches? If you have been able to do this and you found a way to get this working, any advice would be appreciated.

Hi all,

Non-unicode systems are not supported by either of the integration methods. Nevertheless, we do have customers that are live with Non-unicode systems where they deployed the unicode packages/add-ons.

This is not supported in standard and could require some changes before it works.

We are looking into these approaches for our client non unicode ECC 6 Enhancement pack 7. It would be great to ask you how some of these customers were able to workaround the issue. Would it be possible to connect with you directly? Your help would be much appreciated. It would be great to have you on a call with the client and the SAP/Ariba folks who have not been able to provide these answers till now.
