Hello and welcome to this blog post continuing with "What’s new in SAP Business Network for Supply Chain" in 2024, focusing exclusively on the new capabilities delivered in the Q2 2024 Release. This blog is intended for anyone interested in gaining a comprehensive understanding of the content promoted to production in May 2024 for SAP Business Network for Supply Chain. Below, you will find a summary highlighting the updates expected to positively impact our customers.

Capability for customers to provide their opinion when working with Planning collaboration and Ship Notice creation process

Starting from May 2024, SAP Business Network for Supply Chain is introducing a new feature that allows users to share their feedback while working with the Planning Collaboration and Ship Notice creation processes. A Qualtrics survey will be accessible via a side tab, where users can voluntarily click to provide their input. Upon clicking, a pop-up will prompt users to share their thoughts.

You can access the Feedback tab in the following locations within SAP Business Network for Supply Chain:

  • On the Planning Collaboration list page
  • After uploading Planning Collaboration (Inventory / Forecast / Replenishment) data in Excel
  • After submitting an Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN)

Improve Supplier Visibility of Purchase Order Line Items Deleted by Buyers

Previously, SAP Business Network for Supply Chain did not allow suppliers to submit documents for deleted line items, but suppliers were unaware if items had been deleted or were simply blocked. Suppliers also had to create their own methods to identify deleted line items in purchase orders.

Now, SAP Business Network for Supply Chain processes the "delete" operation attribute in an ItemOut element of an OrderRequest document to remove an item from a purchase order. Once deleted, this line item will no longer be available for processing in subsequent documents such as order confirmations, ship notices, service entry sheets, and invoices.

Users can now locate deleted line items in the following places:

  • The Purchase Order > Order Details page
  • Emails regarding updated purchase orders
  • Downloaded PDF files of purchase orders

Versioning and Deleting Customization Projects

This feature enables customers to update their published projects by creating a new version and deleting those they do not intend to publish. This capability is exclusive to users assigned the Customization Editor permission.

For Buyers:

  • To create a new version of an existing customization project and apply changes, the current project must be in the Published status.

  • To delete customization projects, they must be in statuses such as Draft, In Progress, Pushed to Test, or Requested to Publish.

Supplier Email Notifications for Buyer Planning Collaboration Updates

We've introduced new supplier email notifications for updates in planning collaboration made by buyers. This enhancement ensures suppliers can promptly respond to their buyers' actions. Previously, suppliers could only learn about these updates by monitoring SAP Business Network directly.

Sort Planning Records by Projected Stock Status

This solution will assist supplier users in quickly identifying the planning records that require immediate attention, thereby enhancing their efficiency in daily planning tasks.

These are the key features for Q2 2024. Please review the readiness content for further details.
