Hi There,

Welcome to the first in a short new series of updates highlighting some of the great features within Fieldglass  which can be quite often overlooked.

As a Fieldglass Product Adoption Executive in Australia - I manage a portfolio of 10-15 customers at any one point in time. Each customer is different with different program goals, operational, organisational or regulatory constraints.

The purpose of these blog posts is to highlight opportunities for Customers to drive more value creation out of using the Fieldglass application or improve the user experience for your audiences. The Features we'll discuss should be of interest to the majority of customers - no matter the program type or geographical region.

Each update will contain information on 1 specific feature (or group of features with a topic in common) that should be of interest and that if you are not currently using - are probably not aware of

To kick things off the first feature to highlight is “Hierarchy Visibility”.

What does it do: By enabling hierarchy visibility the buyer is able to leverage their organizational structure to control a user's visibility into their direct reports documents.
Once enabled, managers now have direct visibility in Fieldglass to  view their subordinates items – such as work orders, statements of work, workers, timesheets, invoices, activity items etc

Why should it be of interest: Enabling hierarchy visibility provides managers greater visibility at their fingertips into their businesses costs and risks. You are improving the user experience by providing those users who should have visibility, access to it. Managers no longer need to reach out to their subordinates or the system administrators with adhoc or regular questions or, report requests

(hierarchy visibility only works downstream providing Managers access to their subordinates visibility, it does not allow subordinates to view their managers items)

Effort to implement – easy

Effort to test – easy

Benefits to business – medium

If you have hierarchy visibility enabled it would be great to hear your feedback and share with the community how easy it was to enable, how well it was received by the business - or any feedback on any challenges you may have encountered.

This is the fist in a series of blog posts on this topic recommending easy to implement, high value features that customers may not be aware of. To ensure you don't miss any snippets of gold in the future - be sure to follow my profile
