I am Vijay Vital and I have written various blogs in SCN. I am SAP certified in SAP Ariba (SCC) and SAP S/4HANA procurement modules. My Ariba integration with ERP blogs can be found here (
vijayvital). In this blog I will be sharing information that I obtained from the Knowledge Transfer Session on SAP Ariba Cloud Integration Gateway(CIG) for buyer Integration.(Limited Availability Release).
During Ariba Live conference last year, SAP Ariba introduced "SAP Ariba Cloud integration Gateway" (CIG), enabled by SAP Cloud Platform Integrator. This was initially launched for suppliers side integrations only. Currently suppliers are using CIG with some self enabling themselves to Ariba Network with very little effort. The buyer side of CIG is set to launch this year.
The Buyer Architecture view is shown below.
For newer customer (buyer and Seller), SAP Ariba would provide CIG as the preferred deployment option over existing integration options available currently.
What does this mean to existing customers who are CI-9 or Business Suite Add-on?
SAP Ariba will work closely with customers to phase out the use of CI-9 and the use of Business Suite Add-on.
SAP Address the migration of existing customers to CIG by Migration Program. The approach will not be a big bang but promises a slow and smooth transition for existing customers.
CIG has a new add-on different from the Business suite add-on. This means the enhancement done on the BADI for Business Suite Add-on may needs to be migrated. The CIG add-on for ECC or S/4HANA will not generate CXML like the Business Suite add-on does currently.
While the presentation covered newer error handling process, it fell short of explaining the migration options for existing error handing processes from tools such as FEH, AIF to the newer tools.
we hope to hear more information on CIG in future sessions from SAP Ariba.
Good Luck!
