What’s New for the SAP Fieldglass and SAP BTP SBPA Integration

The 2025.11 release brought further enhancements to the integration between SAP Fieldglass and SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) SAP Build Process Automation (SBPA). This integration allows Configuration Manager users to customize approval, and now workflow logic with a self-service, no-code solution.

What’s New for the SAP Fieldglass and SAP BTP SBPA Integration:

• BTP Business Rules Payload Configuration Enhancements

The BTP Business Rules Payload Configuration interface has been enhanced to support front-end validation with a new business rule type: Workflow.  This option improves the accuracy and flexibility of rule setup by allowing users to validate both native SAP Fieldglass fields and Custom Fields based on the chosen business logic.

When submitting a Job Posting, users now select External Validation and will receive a Success, Warning, or Error message depending on the Decision Table setup in SBPA.

• Enhanced Custom Field Support for BTP Integration

The Base Module in the BTP Business Rules Payload tile in SAP Fieldglass already supports Custom Fields and Linked Modules. With the 2025.11 release, there is now the capability to include all Linked Module Custom Fields. Extending this capability to all transactional child modules aligns the system to the business needs by leveraging Custom Fields across all relevant modules.

• Previous Revision Supported in BTP Business Rules Payload

A Previous Revision section has been added to the configuration interface in SAP Fieldglass to allow comparison between current and previous document revisions in approval logic. This eliminates unnecessary approvals, accelerates document processing, and reduces manual intervention.
