Hello SAP Ariba Source to Contract Community and welcome to the 2505 key innovations blog for SAP Ariba Category Management 

SAP Ariba has introduced several significant updates to its Category Management module, enhancing functionality and user experience across different aspects of the platform. 

External Stakeholder Integration (CATMAN-357) 

Not all business stakeholders have a user in SAP Ariba Category Management. With this feature, Category Managers can incorporate external stakeholders without requiring them to be registered as users in the SAP Cloud Identity Services. This update facilitates comprehensive stakeholder engagement, promoting collaboration, transparency, and strategic alignment.

Toolkit Functionality Enhancements (CATMAN-417) 

New functionalities for toolkit documents market Dynamics and Cost Structure have been added, which include the ability to: 

  • Delete 
  • Compare 
  • Copy 
  • Multi-select filters for cross-category, region, and business unit search 
  • Grid view on the toolkit's list page 

    The tool documents can also be filtered by selecting multiple values for category, region, and business units.
    Additionally, the toolkit functionality has been moved from the Develop Strategy and Plan app to a separate Toolkit app on the SAP Ariba Category Management launchpad, streamlining access and consolidating resources.  

     

    Initiatives Overview App Enhancements (CATMAN-471) 

    Users can toggle between visual and compact filters, save filtering preferences in the Initiatives Overview app, and even export initiatives data to spreadsheets for offline data analysis. The enhanced overview enables you to visualize all initiative benefits - estimated benefits, negotiated benefits, and realized benefits and Baseline Spend in a single view across multiple categories.

    Ability to Generate Strategy and Plan Document PDFs (CATMAN-142) 

    This feature highlights a functionality within SAP Ariba Category Management that allows category managers to create PDF versions of strategy and plan documents. This capability aims to facilitate the sharing of these documents with stakeholders who might not have direct access to the platform, ensuring they can still participate in the strategic planning process.  

    To generate a PDF, users need to select the "Generate PDF" option from the overflow menu when viewing a strategy and plan document. 

    The resulting PDF is read-only and includes essential details such as the version number, plan status, associated tools, and the date of generation. It's designed for easy sharing and stakeholder review.
