We are pleased to share the exciting news that employee shopping has become even more efficient with the launch of SAP Ariba Shopping version 1.12.0. In addition to this milestone, we are honored to announce that we have received the IF Design Award 2024 for our innovative and seamless buyer shopping experience!
With the latest release, users can now leverage the entire purchasing process through their mobile devices, from initiating the purchase request to receiving the goods at their designated location, using SAP Ariba Buying or SAP Ariba Buying, with guided buying capabilities.
Let's take a closer look at how this workflow benefits an employee – let us take Colby from the latest YouTube video as an example - looking to order office equipment, such as a new phone. Whether utilizing SAP Ariba Buying or SAP Ariba Buying, with guided buying capabilities, Colby can easily start shopping by browsing through a selection of company catalogs within the app. Furthermore, company catalogs provide valuable supplementary information, including details on sustainability or even an augmented reality view of the items, if provided by the catalog provider. Additionally, with the upcoming Ariba release 2411, Colby will have access to Level 1 punchout catalogs, significantly expanding the range of available products for mobile shopping.
Once Colby has added the chosen items to his shopping cart and reviewed his selection, he can submit a purchase requisition to initiate the approval process within Ariba Buying. Based on the configured approval workflow, Colby's manager will receive an approval notification. This notification can be previewed on the manager's phone, and can be easily accessed with a single tab to proceed to the approval screen within the SAP Ariba Shopping app. From there, the manager can approve the purchase requisition, signaling the green light for the delivery of the requested items to the employee.
