The objects have roughly been separated to reflect applications in the SAP Ariba suite, using the following naming convention:

SM -> Supplier Management

SC -> Sourcing & Contracts

BI -> Buying & Invoicing

Here is one example for analyzing your Invoice line items (based on Analytical API data). It will help you to sort your invoices according to self defined aging buckets and to identify invoices with exceptions easily.

Data modeling has followed the layered approach as for general content development in SAP Datasphere:

In the Inbound Layer (IL) you will find the local table SAP Ariba: Invoice Line Items (LT) (SAP_ARIBA_SRC_INVOICELINEITEMS_AN) and an abstracting view on top SAP Ariba: Invoice Line Items - A (IL) (SAP_PROC_BI_IL_InvoiceLineItems) that adds realm specifica like the reporting currency.

In the Harmonization Layer (HL) on top, you will find the Fact View that combines the Invoice Line Item data with the invoice exceptions plus the Date Grid view that "attaches" the dynamic date buckets to your invoice data to let you check on due dates for your invoices.

In the Reporting Layer (RL) on top, the Analytic Model SAP Ariba: Invoice Line Items - A (RL) (SAP_PROC_BI_RL_InvoiceLineItems) defines additional calculated measures and exposes the data to your SAP Analytics Cloud story.

In case you are operating on multiple realms, don't shy away, this has been catered for throughout the data models. So you can report on single or multiple realms.

Data Integration

How to get your SAP Ariba data into SAP Datasphere?

The data is sourced from SAP Ariba using the following APIs:

For replicating the data from your SAP Ariba applications the Ariba Extractor app is used. The Ariba Extractor is a BTP application  that you can deploy on your BTP account. It can be modified and extended by customers and partners as they see fit.

Please see the image below to get a better idea of the set up.

Once set up, you can schedule load jobs to have the data replicated into tables of an HDI container that is attached to your SAP Datasphere tenant. The SAP Datasphere models are based on top of these tables.

To get started, you can check out this detailed discovery mission that explains the set up and replication process in detail.
