Introduction to SAP Concur Mobile app

As a Technical Consultant at SAP Concur, I get to work with clients across various industries to understand their business needs and processes. Being able to use Concur Mobile App on the go is a great addition and benefit for the users and approvers.

Introduction

The SAP Concur mobile app is a natural extension of the SAP Concur full-featured, web-based service –Travel & Expense which integrates travel and expense processes. The mobile app is supported on both iOS and Android devices.

With the mobile app, travelers can manage trips and expenses as well as book hotels, rail, and rental cars – all from a mobile device. The solution allows business travelers to access important travel and expense information when it isn't easy to use a laptop that's connected to the Internet, such as in a cab or in a meeting. With the mobile app, travelers can take advantage of a variety of features to manage these tasks.

Managers can review employees' expense reports, payment and purchase requests (for clients who use Concur Invoice), trips, and requests (for clients who use Concur Request) in detail, allowing them to approve or reject reports, requests, and trips wherever they may be traveling.

IMPORTANT: This blog describes the features that are available using the mobile app. However, be aware that your company's configuration may not allow for all the features described below. Generally, if a feature is not available in your configuration of the web version of SAP Concur, then it is not available in the mobile app.

Certain features are supported only in the web version of SAP Concur and unavailable or limited in the mobile app at the moment.

Authentication

Concur offers different authentication methods. You are able to use the same login credentials that you use for the web version of SAP Concur or you can use Single Sign On.

If your company is interested in using Single Sign On, the authentication happens in the Identity Provider (e.g. Azure, OKTA). You can enter either your Concur username, verified email address or a SSO company code (can be found in Profile > Concur Mobile Registration in the web version of SAP Concur) and login. Should your company not require Single Sign On, you can sign in with verified email address (as shown in your user's SAP Concur profile) or SAP Concur username and password. Once you have been authenticated, its possible to utilize either face id or fingerprint to access the app in the future.

Kindly note that Two-Factor Authentication was introduced by SAP Concur in 2023. To add your SAP Concur account to the authenticator app, scan the QR code on the Sign In page. You can also use an authenticator app (such as Microsoft Authenticator or Google Authenticator) to scan the QR code. If you can’t scan the QR code, select the Set up manually with a key link. Copy the six-digit code that was generated from the app into the Authentication Code field, and then press Sign In.

Accessing the Profile icon in top right corner will allow you to enter Help that contains various help articles, Leave feedback or e.g. access Settings directly from the mobile app.

Depending on your permissions the available features on the home screen will vary. Let’s imagine that you can access Expense on the web version of SAP Concur, then you can also access Expense in the mobile app.

We will focus on the Concur Expense and Travel in mobile app in following chapters. Keep in mind that the mobile app also supports other Concur modules depending on your company Concur´ s configuration.

Concur Expense in mobile app

One of the key features of the SAP Concur mobile app is its expense management capabilities. Users can easily upload receipts, categorize expenses, and track spending in real-time. The app also allows users to create and submit expense reports directly from their mobile devices, eliminating the need for manual data entry and paperwork.

Concur Expense provides the following services:

Automatically categorizes and map expenses based on receipt

Enforces policy compliance
Reimburse employees faster

Concur Travel in mobile app

In addition to expense management, the SAP Concur mobile app also offers a Concur Travel module. This feature allows users to book flights, hotels, and rental cars directly from the app. Users can compare prices, view itineraries, and receive real-time travel alerts to ensure a smooth and stress-free travel experience. Where to get the SAP Concur Mobile App

The app can be downloaded through the Apple App Store and Google Play Store or through Concur Mobile Registration in the web version of SAP Concur. The app is available for every SAP Concur customer at no extra charge.
