Just imagine it: having a call with like-minded people, talking and connecting during the broadcasted keynote or one of the many live virtual sessions! It is possible to use Zoom for your virtual viewing party. You do a video call with the other participants and share your screen. Benefits would include getting insights from other community members and expanding your network while watching the virtual session together in parallel.
Hosting a WATCH PARTY is super fun and easy. As long as you have a paid Zoom subscription (as the free version limits the time to 40 minutes -- which could cut your party short -- and you can accommodate up to 300 participants in the meeting (500 by request)), you can become the life of your very own watch party!
There are plenty of Zoom support FAQs to help you, but here are some tips and best practices:
- Share the Zoom link + date + time with your target audience in advance of SAP TechEd (such as by announcing in one of the appropriate Groups).
- Start a complementary discussion in one of these appropriate Groups and keep it going even after the virtual session has ended!
- Be prepared on the day of the party and enter the room 10 mins before the start of the session.
- Recommend that participants join via laptop, with the room URL or code provided by the host.
- Get your event listed.
