Continuing our meet the ASUG speaker series, I am pleased to introduce Girish Manmadkar, whose ASUG SAP TechEd d-code session is ITM124 SAP HANA on VMware – Best Practices.

This session discusses the challenges and gotchas while running SAP HANA database on vSphere environment, as well best practices to achieve right performance and scalability.

Girish was exposed to SAP during his time at Informix (now IBM) database company, where many of his customers were running SAP with backend database Informix in early 1990’s. He has thus exposure to work with various other database technologies with hands-on experience to his belt. He has successfully worked on many SAP upgrade projects as well as SAP green field implementations, including time at Deloitte Consulting, where he was lead Architect to deploy various SAP modules for an energy company.

Now at VMware Professional services, as a Global Consulting Architect, he has been tasked to lead the WW SAP practice by the PSO leadership, to help set various SAP on VMware design standards, define best practices, performance benchmarks including SAP HANA, working with key engineering individuals at VMware and SAP, he is able to bring more value to the work being delivered by the practice on complex SAP landscapes and architectures.
