Last week was SAP TechEd Bangalore. While I only got to watch the replays from my office in Philly, I know that everyone always looks forward to DemoJam. This fierce and fun competition features customers, partners and SAP employees who work in teams and submit their best and brightest ideas for new applications. The teams with the most exciting submissions are asked to present in an onstage competition at TechEd. Winners are then chosen by audience feedback and the energy in the audience is something to see!
Now, I work for SAP, and the SAP Service and Support team that I work in is called SAP Custom Development. In case you don’t know about us, we are in the business of designing and developing mission-critical business solutions that address the individualized and competitively differentiating needs of the customer. These innovative solutions can extend or enhance a customer’s base SAP software on premise, on the SAP HANA platform and in the cloud. Basically, our team lives and breathes innovation.
For the last few DemoJams, teams from SAP Custom Development have been in the winner’s circle (check out the winners from Las Vegas in November). So it came as no surprise to me to learn that my colleagues were again the top finishers at DemoJam Bangalore. In fact, the top 4 teams were all from our organization! While all teams that entered deserve recognition for their efforts (it’s not easy coming up with new and exciting ideas), I’d like to personally congratulate all the SAP Custom Development employees who took the challenge. Their entries focused on making life safer and easier for everyone – from aiding in search & rescue missions to easing commutes and making homes safer for children.
Over the next few weeks, I will be interviewing the top four winning teams to learn more about what inspires them and posting the interviews here. For today, I’ll just give you links to the winners so you can see for yourself.
