8:20 - I arrived at the ICM and gone straight to the welcome reception. Here I received my Information Papers and also a voucher for a small SAP bag. Then I tried to get an overview about the halls. After a look into the floor plans I also found the really small SDN corner.

9:10 - Key Notes started. Shai Agassi talked about the future of the SAP NetWeaver Platform and SAP’s Vision of an Enterprise Service Architecture. SAP's plan is to provide all functionality of SAP Applications as Services till 2007. As weblogs.sdn.sap.com/pub/u/1918%94 [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] said in his SAP TechED 2004 San Diego: Conference Diary; Day 1-Lunch about his first Day at Teched San Diego the interesting part for Developers was the Demo of the SAP Java VM technology. After Shai, Dr. Peter Zencke entered the stage and continued to speak about philosophy. Because the Key Note started late I’ve left at 10:50 to reach my first Hands on Session

Note: I think we should get paid for the mile we have to walk here in the ICM. The rooms with the hands on sessions are 500 m away from the Catering area.

11:00 - My first Hands on Session was about how to add your own properties to Documents in Knowledge Management. This where my fist steps into the KM Technology but I’ve got a small impression what can be done with it. I was impressed by the included HTML Editor which also allows to copy and paste existing Web Pages.

13:00 – Lunch Time. Luckily or session does not take till 13:00 and so the queues where not so long. At 13:30 they where 50 m long.

14:00 – Hands on Session at SAP Solution Manager. I’ve heard something about it but never had detailed information. That Session was really worth it and gave me a good impression of the benefits for our company. It really makes your solution implementation live a lot easier.

Now I’m heading for the SDN Demo Jam sessions and after that for the SDN Birds of Feather Sessions. See you tomorrow. Pictures from Day 1
