Hai Genius,
I'm just new to EWM and I like to be strong in basics of ECC and EWM.
Can anyone help me by explaining what is ECC and what is EWM?
Difference and Relation between ECC and EWM?
How ECC and EWM is linked?
And some importance about ECC and EWM?
It will be very helpful for me to understand EWM easily.....
Regards,
Jayanthi.
Request clarification before answering.
ECC contains the core ERP section, which contains all ERP modules (FI, CO, MM, SD, PS).
EWM is part of mySAP environment, meaning it is contained in a separate box and has more functionalities than normal ECC based WM.
Connection between both ECC and EWM is done via CIF (core interface), which is used to synchronize master data, stocks, etc.
As with any standard ERP, ECC contains all modules which can be used to suit business models. But, some business functionalities cannot be handled OR handled with lot of workarounds in standard ECC. In warehouse and logistic operations, EWM is sold by SAP to handle some specific functionalities (not available in std ECC) like activity area, staging, door, work center (in inbound logistics).
