Universities in SAP University Alliance Program.....are they for real?????

Hi,

I am a prospective student with intention to go for my masters program. I want to attend a school on the SAP University Alliance list and so I adapted the list on the UA site and tried narrowing down my choice of universities.

I noticed that for the US and Canada, though listed, some schools did not have any SAP related program in place. I made inquiries to about two (2) schools in both countries and they stated that they had no knowledge of the SAP Alliance program.

As such, what I currently need is advice on how to choose schools in the US that have a good SAP Training history. So far, only Grand Valley State University has been suggested to me for the US. Any other good suggestions? Please address in time as application deadlines for most schools is fast approaching.

This obviously is long after you inquiry, but for others who have similar question, yes, there are several universities who are for real in their SAP curriculum. Some do it better than others.

At Georgia Southern University, we have an extensive offering of courses at the graduate and undergraduate level. The graduate program is also online.  These classes are both technical and functional in nature.

seems you know a lot around the matter so I thought I might ask you a couple of things and if you were kind enough to answer if you have the answers of course

I am a functional SAP HCM consultant working as a free-lance mainly in the configuration phase of the project

I was thinking if there is a possibility t slightly change career and move into education but still making use of my SAP skills, so may I ask you if you know how to apply for jobs in universities that teach SAP in their curriculum and especially universities based in Europe as am European?

Do you might know what are the prerequisites to be suitable for the job? I hold an MBA

We have SAP integrated into several of our College of Business programs as well as graduate programs with an SAP Concentration. Although we do not offer a master degree, I encourage you to check Seneca College (Toronto, On, Canada) Global Logistics and Supply Chain Management (SCM) Graduate Certificate. The certificate is very strong in SAP ERP, offering two levels of SAP certification, the one obtained at the end of the program (program is two semesters) from Seneca and the SAP Academy (TERP10) which we offer twice a year. The SAP Terp10 academy renders a certification from SAP.

Furthermore, our Graduate Certificate has transfer credit agreements with universities in the US, Canada and Australia towards a master degree, hence obtaining both, a strong SAP component and a master in your area of choice. Our web site is www.senecac.on.ca

Thank you all for your answers. In Canada, I actually contacted York University and Carleton University and could not get an idea of the SAP program in place. I was told to notify SAP and inquire as to what available programs they had.

I am actually interested in pursuing a Masters in Information Technology/Systems. I am thinking that if I don't get a school hat meets my need, I might just choose any other school and find another means of getting into SAP....maybe take some certification exams on my own (though very expensive) or try to get affiliated with a school on the SAP Alliance.

Anyone out there with a good opinion?????

Chances are that you got someone at York and Carlton that didn't have direct knowledge of the SAP program. There are several UA members in Canada. What you want to do is look on-line at the Master's program you want, i.e. Masters in Information Technology and then see if SAP courses are listed with that program. Each school is unique in what they offer. For Canadian schools, I am showing Master's level courses offered at North Alberta Institute of Technology (looks like a good program in MIS), Seneca and York University. Look up contact information at each of these schools in the specific program you want and I'll bet you'll find someone who can tell you all about it. If you are not successful please let me know and I'll dig a little further.

HEC Montreal only offers the SAP certification courses to its full-time students. Although it's a French-speaking university, you can enroll in the Intensive MBA program (13-month) which is offered in both French and English (i.e. you can do the entire Intensive MBA program in French OR in English OR both).

All of the universities listed are offering UA courses. But some offer them in the business school, some offer them in the engineering school, some offer them in the IT school.

Again, I can't be the best source for information as I'm just a current undergraduate. I'm also looking to pursue an MBA and seem to have similar interest to you.

Check you [Central Michigan's|http://www.cel.cmich.edu/onlinemba/Default.aspx?dc=MBA] MBA curriculum. They seem to have a strong MBA SAP emphasis. (You will have to select the SAP Emphasis under 'Available Concentrations')

I'm curious to hear your findings once you complete your research.
