This is a question for the SAP Education / Stay Current team.
At the moment one must have a Learning Hub (LH) subscription (professional, solution or internal edition) to access the Stay Current (SC) assessments. This means you will lose validity of your SC-relevant certifications if you don't pay an expensive subscription. This restriction is unreasonable, especially for independent consultants.
I am sure SAP as a company should be interested in fostering the Stay Current program and keeping consultants engaged and up-to-date with their knowledge/certifications. As it stands now, this goal is not being met due to the above restriction. It's simple math: no individual will pay thousands of dollars a year for LH subscription just to keep their certification in "valid" status. Consultants will lapse their certs and stop paying much heed to new features.
Is there a plan to consider removing this restriction? As one option, the free Discovery edition of LH can be added to the list of acceptable editions for Stay Current assessments. Alternatively, SC assessment exams can be offered for a small fee (on a per-exam basis or with a separate new annual subscription just for SC exams) – to cover SAP's internal costs of the SC exam production.
Cheers,
Serguei
Perhaps SAP Education can consider a version for independent consultants at a lower price to stay current.
