Hi guys,
There are two certifications i can see here. Which one is good and new.
I could not find Solution manager 7.0 version certification...wondering which version people are taking now.
Certification code.
CSMI04 Cert. SAP Solution Manager (NW04)
CSMI310 Cert. SAP Solution Manager4.0
Does the certification version differs with respect to country?
any idea
Just the name has been changed from 4.0 to 7.0 version, however, the functionality are more or less remains the same.

Ravi

Hello,
I went for implementation tools certification in SM
It is 40 questions one hour time. I felt it is pretty straight forward.
If you go through the syllabus mentioned by SAP, I do not think you need any training also.
If you have six month experience on SM, I do not see any reason why you cannot pass the examination.

Ravi
hi Ravi
thanks for your reply.
I have not taken the certification yet. but can you tell me what are the books referred by SAP for this exam.
Do you think any of the book is missing or out of list
SAP01 SAP Overview
SM001 Introduction to SAP Solution Manager
SMI210 SAP Solutio Manager: Implementation Methodology Overview
SMI310 SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Implementation Tools
Also if you could shower the bottleneck crossed in the exam, could be nice.
regards
jai
Hello,
For implementation tools, you need to read
SMI310 SAP Solution Manager 4.0 Implementation Tools
If you read this book, at least 5 times religiously before going to exam and understood the concepts, then you should be able to clear the exam.
For certification details and syllabus, please visit.
If you have time also read SM001 Introduction to SAP Solution Manager (no much stress)

hi Ravi,
thanks for your input.
I need two more information from you
1) can you tell me which version of SMI310 document you followed...was that Year 2004 Version or New version.
2) How long preperation is required..( i am assuming 2weeks would be enough)
Difficulty of exam question required more than 2weeks?? please suggest me.
3) Just blindly recurssive reading(5 times) of only one book SMI310 is enough to pass?
Please reconfirm.
regards

1. I do not think this is much matter. The version is not really matter as you will see most of the concepts are more or less the same.
2. It depends on individual to individual. I would suggest at least 4 weeks preparation you should plan. You should not be in a hurry rush through the material. Run through each line in a detailed way by understanding the meaning behind the words.
3. I felt it is pretty easy examination for me, though practically I have not much worked on SM.
4. I would suggest you first need to understand the basic concepts, blind reading may not help you. Blind reading may help you to just pass the examinaiton, but in long run you will not gain anything from it. Therefore, you need to read 5 times by understanding the concepts. First time reading may take longer time. But, the number of times you read, the time for each reading gets decreased.
Please let me know if you need further details.
All the best for your certification.
Regards,
Ravi
