Hi Rajesh,
Welcome to SCN and to the world of SAP.
Without proper guidance it will be difficult to learn ABAP well. Sure..there is a lot of reading material on the internet about ABAP. But just reading them randomly will not take you very far...it will in fact scare you away from ABAP.
May I suggest the book: "Learn ABAP in 21 days" by Ken Greenwood. This is, by far, the best book I have ever read on ABAP. I started with this book. You can buy the book (not very expensive) or can access it here: http://www.sapnet.ru/abap21day/
Pros of this book:
* You don't have to spend a long time to know if ABAP is really what you want to do. This book can be completed in just 21 days. Just spend about 2 hrs everyday. By the end of this book, you can make a decision if you want to pursue a career in ABAP.
* Just follow the chapters in the same order as they are in the book. This book does an excellent job of introducing complex elements gradually and it won't intimidate you in any way. So you don't have to worry about the order in which you have to learn the topics.
Cons of this book:
* This is a very old book. It contains lots of old syntax. I don't know if there is a new version of this. Inspite of the old syntax, it is a wonderful book. Once you grasp the concepts, learning the new syntax is not a big deal.
* This is not exhaustive or it is not the complete ABAP. It covers mainly Data Dictionary, Report programming etc.
Start with this book and refer to other material on SCN in parallel. Hopefully you will be in a good shape in a matter of several months.
Wish you all the best.
