Hi Rahman,

Initially, your domain knowledge wont count, Later after becoming SAP HR Consultant, it counts.

You have to work hard for certification, later struggle a lot to get a job on SAP.

My advise is do certification while doing domain job.  If you get a chance in sap, leave the job.

Dear Saif,

I believe you should worry at all. There are many requisites that makes a Consultant and a very good HR consultant.

And some of this requisites include, good knowledge gained through years on the job or have been involved in different projects and life cycles, etc... You will find out there loads of consultants that have no certification, but things are change, very soon certification will be a big plus (i would say even perhaps a requirement), as its slowly happening anyway, so get your hands on one, and your years of experience will look even better when doing an interview.

best,

Hi Saif

I advise you to be very cautious.  There are many horror stories on SCN that document situations that people left jobs and undertook SAP Certification expecting to become a SAP Consultant.

Please read the following blog including the comments.

Good luck
