Hi All

How are you, I am Zubair shaikh from Pakistan, I need some information from someone who lives in India and IT Professional also. I like to do Sap administration (BASIS) and somebody told me it’s very cheap in India and lot of professionals there. In Pakistan only two education partners of siemens and they take huge amount for 30 days training. Will you please give me some information about SAP (BASIS) training in India with contact detail and fee structures?

Is it possible if I visit India for a month and get training there?

Is it possible for you that please forward this email to SAP Professionals?

Please help me; I shall be really very thankful to you.

Thanks and Best Regards

<b>As-salamalaikum Zubair,

Thanks for ur mail.I am a Consultant, a B.Tech and an MBA, working with one of India's top IT giants.I am not associated with any training institute, I give personal classes.

I am putting-up at Delhi.

Seeing your past experience, I believe that other modules will suit ur profile more, rather than Basis. It wud be better if u can talk 2 me so that we can discuss abt the pre-requisites of the modules.

The normal course duration is 2 months. We can work-out for a fast-track training option if u r planning to visit India for a month.

The training is based on standard SAP training material for which people spend couple of lakhs elsewhere.U just need to spend a fraction of that amount here.

U can call me(after 5:30 pm on weekdays and anytime during the day on Saturday and Sunday) at 09818738730 so that we can discuss abt ur expectations, the plus-points of this program, the course structure etc in detail.

Hi,

As I said earlier, the rates in Pakistan are the lowest and this is something you can confirm on your own through the URL mentioned by Eddy. And by the way, the course fee for BASIS would be around USD 5K as it is more expensive in terms of cost of delivery (servers have to be booked with SAP AG). If someone is offering 4K, I believe they wont hold a class unless they have at least 8-10 participants. For the rest of the tracks, course fee would be around USD 4K. There is an exam fee on top of that.

As far as going for non-authorized SAP training is concerned, that is your personal preference. You will still have to appear in the certification exam which requires that you have either attended the academy or have worked in the capacity of a BASIS person.

Honestly speaking, it is much easier for IT professionals to learn about SAP development/administration on their own these days. All you need to do is order a book from www.sap-press.com which comes with a trial version of SAP. Otherwise, simply download a trial version from https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/downloads and using the vast resources available on SDN, learn on your pace. The forums on SDN are very active and I know a few people who have developed a career using SDN. It depends on the effort a person is willing to put in.

The best way forward is to try to find a job with an organization using SAP, work with the software for 1+ year, and then certify. The quicker and more expensive route is taking the academy. But all SAP consultants will confirm that there is not match to having experience. Certification is a nice-to-have but without experience, you will have problems in finding a job.

Any way, you more aware of your personal circumstances and how you wish to shape your career. If you need assistance, please do not hesitate to post a question on SDN.

Hi Zubair,

Thanks for the feedback. Actually I am working with a firm in UK these days but I'll forward your comments to the relevant person at Abacus.

Thanks and regards

Hi,

As someone who worked on establishing the second SAP partner academy in Pakistan (in addition to being an instructor at both Siemens KHI and Abacus LHR), I can confirm that the rates of SAP training in Pakistan are lowest compared to rest of the world, including India. On top of that, please do not forget to include your travel expenses that you will incur when you go to any other country.

One more correction, the training is for 25 working days (not 30).

If you need more information, please do not hesitate to post your questions here.

Regards
