Hi all, I am using the SAP Practice for Implementing SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition, Transportation Management. I hit a problem with creating (saving) a freight agreement in exercise 4. The error is:

Organizational Unit 1010: No data maintained for business partner CAR-020

I have created the carrier and it is indeed in the system so I am not sure why I am getting this issue. Is this the right channel for me to report issue?

Cheers

SFC

Hi @SFC
I brought this to the attention of our SAP expert who recommended:
Please check the step to maintain purchasing information when creating the carrier CAR-020.
Please remind the carrier to maintain this information (e.g. currency):

Does this help?
Kind regards

It sounds like you're facing an issue with a freight agreement in SAP S/4HANA Cloud, particularly with the business partner CAR-020 not being recognized, even though you've created it in the system. This error generally points to a configuration or data issue, where the business partner might not be correctly linked to the relevant organizational unit, or there might be missing master data for the carrier in the Transportation Management (TM) configuration.

As for whether this is the right channel for reporting issues: this platform isn't specifically designed for reporting SAP issues directly to SAP support, but I can still help troubleshoot and guide you through potential solutions! Here are some things you can check:

Steps to troubleshoot:

  1. Check Business Partner Role Assignment:

    • Go to the business partner master data for "CAR-020" and ensure that it has the correct roles assigned for use in Transportation Management.
    • Specifically, make sure the role "Carrier" is assigned to it.
  2. Verify Organizational Unit Configuration:

    • The organizational unit "1010" could be referencing a location or a business unit where the carrier data should be connected. Ensure the carrier "CAR-020" is properly maintained for this specific organizational unit.
    • Check whether the organizational unit 1010 is properly mapped to the business partner within the system.
  3. Carrier Data in Transportation Management:

    • In some cases, you might need to check that the carrier master data is properly set up in TM, ensuring all necessary details are filled, such as business partner information, transportation zones, etc.
  4. Re-check Freight Agreement Setup:

    • Go back to the freight agreement setup process and verify if all the required fields are correctly populated, especially the business partner/carrier selection.

Hi, thanks for helping out with troubleshooting. Here are my responses.

#1, #3: Yes, I have extended the BP to the roles carrier, supplier and supplier (Fin.Accounting). In a private cloud, I would be checking the location to ensure the the carrier is available but I do not have access to do that in the public cloud system.

#2: Not sure how I can check this as we have limited access in the public cloud system.

#4: I have rechecked a few times so am not sure whether there is any issue with the FA set up. I was able to assign a different carrier and was allowed to save. At the moment, I have saved with the other carrier just so that I do not lose the FA data I set up.
