We, here at Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas) are proposing to offer 4 SAP-enabled courses (ERP overview, Business Intelligence, ERP-ECommerce, and SCM) toward a graduate certificate in ERP. All courses would be offered online. The courses can be completed in a year, at present. Any of you offering a certificate? I was curious about how to market this program overseas? or even within the States? Any pointer will be appreciated.
I am offering a course on BI at present, and I am thrilled, I never knew that teaching BI can give me so much satisfaction. I used teradata, tableau, microstrategy, pivot table, and will start using SAP BW next week. Thanks, Kakoli

While we are thrilled to see innovations in the University Alliances course offerings please remember that courses you offer must be part of a degree or certificate that is part of your normal university offering. You can not offer courses that are special "SAP training" oriented courses that are targeting business constituents. That said, we do want to encourage taking courses you offer as part of a degree program and teaching those in an online format. If you have a set of courses within that degree program that make up a certificate in ERP or something that is also encouraged. What we need to be careful, according to the licensing agreement, is to not cross that line of offering "training" like classes. Several years ago, for example, it was absolutely prohibited to offer any continuing education, non degree courses in any format. As far as I know this is still not allowed. But it is OK to offer online courses that are part of your normal degree offering and students taking those classes have to apply to your university and register as a degree seeking student. In short, all the online post-BA certificate courses also have to be part of your Master's degree program.

Hi
We have been offering a number of subjects online as part of a graduate certificate for about 3 years now. The subjects include; ERP Systems, Business Process Engineering, Application Proogramming and Client Server Technology. We have about 20 ERP (SAP) related subjects and are considering to extend our online offerings. We use a combination of synchronous (virtual classroom) and asynschronous (blackboard, simulations) technologies and a hosted SAP environment. Lectures are live and recorded giving students access to review.
We presented a paper at the curriculum early 2000 about the elearning model which we employed. This might help you.
