Hey everyone, hows it going?
A little about me: I am 24, graduated from Penn State with a degree in electrical engineering. Currently i am working in the oilfield (since oct 07) and making no use of the stuff i learned in college.
I am currently in Houston and came across this posting about a SAP training course.
http://houston.craigslist.org/sof/549958539.html
Its for SAP BW 3.5.
My question: Is this certification beneficial?
My Aim: I wanna stop doing what i am doing right now and get into the SAP field.
I have no prior experience with software stuff. I can play around on the computer but i have not taking any programming courses. Do you guys think that i will be able to understand SAP and secure a decent job in this field if i go thru this course?
I appreciate all your input.
Request clarification before answering.
Hi Naren,
I, too was an engineering graduate. If you are interested in joining the SAP field you must first know what SAP is all about. And also the Modules involved such as PP, SD, MM, FI, CO and such.
For newbies, it's usually best if you could get a SAP certificate in any of the SAP modules, as stated above. After certification, it'd be easier for you to land a job as a SAP consultant as a newbie in any SAP companies.
Hope this helps,
Zarah

Hey Zarah, thanks a lot for the prompt reply. I am going to ask you a couple of stupid questions though.
I google'd SAP modules and skimmed through it. So i got a rough idea of what it is.
My question would be that if i complete this course, would it help me to get from where i am right now (newbie) to where i want to get to (a decent paying job).
