Neither I nor my students can get the iOS version of SAPGUI to work

I know very little about Apple iMacs and the iOS operating system, so I am at a loss when students ask for help installing the SAP GUI to their personal computers.

I have carefully followed the directions:  download and install the java api then download and install the sapgui.  But I cannot get it to work.  Can someone who knows Apple and the sapgui give me some help?

I am a Windows user and know nothing about Apple iOS, but my bright student Blair helped me to create help instructions in additional to the normal SAPGUI installation notes for the Mac users. This is all credited to Blair, and below is the link to his notes:

Thank you very much for the information.  I believe you should urge your bright student to submit this to the UA to be posted.  I am sure that I am not the only luddite when it comes to iOS!
